In-house Counsel

e are currently working with a growing multidisciplinary advisory group providing commercial and strategic advice to businesses including the mining and resources sector.

About the role

As sole legal counsel, you will report directly to the Managing Director and take ownership of the group’s legal requirements while also providing commercially focused advice across a diverse portfolio.

This is a hands-on position offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across a broad range of commercial matters.

You will provide practical and commercially focused advice across day-to-day business operations, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, procurement agreements, NDAs and employment agreements, as well as reviewing documentation, identifying legal and commercial risk and assisting with general corporate and regulatory matters.

You will be trusted to manage your own workload and provide pragmatic advice that supports commercial decision-making.

About you

We would like to hear from commercial / contracts lawyers with 4-8 years’ PAE, ideally gained in a similar in-house environment or with a leading national, international or highly regarded boutique firm.

You will have strong general commercial and contracts experience, together with the confidence to work autonomously and manage matters from start to finish. You will be commercially minded, practical in your approach and comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders.

This role will particularly suit someone looking to step into a sole counsel position where they can make the role their own, while remaining closely connected to the commercial and operational side of the business.
