Manager Legal – Corporate & Operations

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a senior lawyer with corporate and operations experience to join the legal leadership team of a leading ASX 100 mining company on an initial 16-month contract. There is strong potential for the contract to be extended for the right lawyer.

This is a broad, hands-on role for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys partnering with the business and being close to decision-making. The position has a strong focus on corporate, projects and operational legal matters, supporting major strategic initiatives across a growing business.

Working closely with a highly regarded General Counsel & Company Secretary, you will advise on a diverse range of matters including commercial contracting, corporate transactions, debt financing, offtake arrangements, joint ventures, project development and business-critical operational issues.

As the company moves towards a significant FID milestone, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping and supporting the next phase of growth.

A snapshot of responsibilities – no two days the same:

• Lead and support corporate matters, strategic projects and financing initiatives

• Negotiate and advise on complex commercial/corporate agreements, including offtake, procurement, services and project-related contracts

• Provide strategic legal support to operational, commercial and executive stakeholders

• Manage external counsel

• Lead and mentor a direct report while contributing to the broader legal leadership team

• Partner with stakeholders across Australia and international operations

About You

We are interested in speaking with senior in-house lawyers with:

• 12+ years' PAE

• Strong corporate, commercial and operational legal experience

• A genuine commercial mindset and ability to provide practical, business-focused advice

• The confidence to operate autonomously and influence senior stakeholders

• Knowledge of ASX listing rules, continuous disclosure obligations and the Corporations Act is welcome but not essential

• Company Secretarial exposure is welcome but not essential
