Senior Legal Counsel – Energy company

KBE Legal Talent is currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with a generalist commercial skillset to join the legal team of this energy company on a 12-month contract. Commencing as soon as possible, this opportunity is available for 12 months to cover parental leave, ideally on a full-time basis (5 days per week), although a 4-day week may be considered for the right lawyer.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the Procurement team on a range of strategic procurement and commercial initiatives and will have the ability to turn your hand to a broad range of commercial matters.

Your responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

• Negotiation, drafting and administration of complex contracts including program and design and construction works to support Housing initiatives.

• Advising on contractual rights and obligations, managing contract variations and disputes and supporting supplier engagement.

• Providing practically commercially focused legal advice to assist project delivery and procurement outcomes.

• Working closely with the business on day to day matters advising on operational and commercial legal problems.

We would like to speak with lawyers with 8+ years’ PAE who have front-end experience to execute the above role, and have worked in the infrastructure, energy or construction sectors.

This role would suit a driven lawyer who can work directly with senior stakeholders and manage their own matters with a high degree of autonomy.
