Legal Counsel

This growing ASX 200 company is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its high-performing legal team. About the Opportunity

This position offers the chance to work closely with the General Counsel and a wide variety of stakeholders in a broad and influential legal position. You’ll be a trusted advisor across the business, with no two days the same, you will gain exposure to high-impact projects, build strong working relationships within the business providing advice across a wide range of commercial, corporate, operations, contractual and regulatory matters.

Some of your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the legal and commercial teams in negotiating services, procurement and construction contracts, including both variations from the company's standard templates and amendments to supplier terms;

• Assisting with the strengthening of the company's contract templates and contracting processes;

• Supporting the negotiation of agreements with third parties, including mining access agreements and licences; and

• Assisting with corporate matters, including ASX announcements and governance activities.

About You 

This position would suit a lawyer with 5-8 years' PAE, ideally gained across both private practice and in-house with a background in either the mining, resources, construction or engineering sectors.

You’ll also bring:

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences.

• Strong judgment, critical thinking, and a pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving.
