KBE Legal Talent is currently working with a highly respected Australian marine and logistics business to secure a HSEQ Manager for its growing organisation.

About the role

As the business continues to expand, an opportunity has arisen for a HSEQ lawyer with 6-10 years' PAE to join the organisation and become a trusted adviser to senior leadership across a broad range of operational, legal, risk and governance matters.

Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for leading the organisation's HSEQ, risk, compliance, legal and governance functions, ensuring effective risk management and the maintenance of robust systems, contracts, controls and regulatory frameworks that support operational performance and business growth.

Some of your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Lead, develop and support the on-site HSEQ function, risk, governance and compliance functions, ensuring robust regulatory and operational controls across the business.

• Set the organisation's risk appetite, governance framework and compliance strategy, including AMSA, class and ISO requirements.

• Oversee safety management systems, auditing and compliance monitoring to drive safe and effective operations.

• Lead business continuity strategy, emergency response plans and demobilisation protocols.

• Provide legal, contractual and regulatory advice, including contract management, variations and commercial risk oversight.
