Legal Counsel – Regulatory/Compliance

KBE Legal Talent has been briefed by a well-established organisation in the aged care and health sector that is going through a growth phase with new investments and developments. We are looking to speak with regulatory and compliance lawyers who are seeking a growth role with no two days the same.

About the role:

Our client has a long-standing presence and strong reputation within a service driven and highly regulated sector. The company is in a strong growth cycle with significant expansion underway.

In this role you will work closely with a supportive General Counsel and advise the wider business across a range of matters, with a focus on regulatory and compliance.

Your key responsibilities may include:

  • Overseeing and managing a suite of standardised organisational contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant industry specific legislation and regulations, and coordinating updates with external advisors as required.

  • Developing a compliance register detailing the organisation’s compliance requirements across key relevant legislation, and creating tracking/reporting procedures.

  • Providing advice on legislation impacting the day-to-day operations of the organisation, with respect to risk and compliance.

  • Assisting with the development and updating of a range of internal policies and procedures, including ESG and corporate governance matters.

  • Opportunity to grow your skillset by assisting the business, alongside the General Counsel on a range of general commercial contracts, agreements, procurement, construction and HR/workplace matters as required.

  • Supporting the Company Secretary as required.

Who we’re looking for:

We would like to speak with regulatory and compliance lawyers with 3-5 years’ PAE, with experience working in mid/top-tier firms or a similar in-house environment. You will ideally have advised organisations in the health/aged care industry, higher education providers or other similar organisations.
