Legal Director

KBE Legal Talent has been exclusively engaged by a global renewable, oil and gas company who are experiencing continued growth across its Asia Pacific region.  This is a newly created and pivotal role that will be an integral link within the APAC region and the wider global business.

About the role:

This is a rare opportunity working directly with an established international leadership team while acting as the sole legal lead in Perth. You will play a key role in supporting expansion, embedding legal frameworks, and partnering closely with both corporate and operational stakeholders across the business.

Reporting into an international General Counsel, this position will operate as the “go-to” legal advisor in Asia Pacific, with responsibility across multiple jurisdictions and entities. There will be some international travel required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as principal legal counsel for the APAC region

• Play a leading ‘hands on’ role with the day-to-day business across commercial contracts, tenders, and project agreements plus more

• Supporting regional and local leadership, finance, and corporate functions

• Providing assistance with input on corporate governance and board-related matters

• Partnering with global teams on compliance and risk initiatives

• Acting as the on-the-ground legal representative while aligning with global strategy

Who we’re looking for:

We are interested in speaking with senior lawyers who bring a mix of technical capability and commercial judgement and have the confidence to operate autonomously in a regional role.

You will ideally have 8-15+ years’ experience with oil and gas. You will have a mindset suited to a standalone/lead position, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and C-suite.
