Senior Legal Counsel

About the Opportunity
This position offers the chance to work closely with the General Counsel in a broad and influential legal position. You’ll be a trusted advisor across the business, supporting key functions including commercial, finance, projects, operations, exploration, native title, human resources and company secretarial.

The successful candidate will become a trusted advisor to the business and gain exposure to high-impact projects.

Some of your responsibilities may include:

• Providing advice across a wide range of commercial, corporate, contractual, and regulatory matters.

• Drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including procurement, banking, and confidentiality agreements.

• Managing disputes and claims efficiently, including oversight of external legal counsel.

• Contribute to corporate governance, risk and support major operational and strategic initiatives.

About You 

This position would suit a lawyer with 5-12 years PAE, ideally gained across both private practice and in-house, with a background in either the mining, resources, construction or engineering sectors.

You’ll also bring:

• A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences.

• Strong judgment, critical thinking, and a pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving.

• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
