Senior Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy Company

An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of Australia’s leading renewable energy companies for a Senior Legal Counsel with 5-10 years’ PAE. The ideal lawyer will have a strong background in construction, projects, infrastructure, and commercial law, and will be joining a highly regarded and reputable in-house legal team.

About the role:

You will work closely with the General Counsel and advise key stakeholders across the broader business, providing commercial and legal support to a growing business in the renewable energy sector. You’ll collaborate with the legal team while also supporting the procurement and commercial teams on contractual matters, strategy, and risk.

Some of the responsibilities in this role could include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial and project agreements, including construction related agreements, power purchase agreements, service contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements and confidentiality agreements.

• Assisting the business to identify, assess and mitigate risk across the business, as well as advise on claims, variations and dispute resolution. 

• Preparing reports and providing legal support to the board, executive team, and company management.

• Providing general legal advice across the business as required, including matters related to leasing, insurance policies, employment/workplace issues, regulatory compliance and tendering processes. 

Who we’re looking for:

We are interested in speaking with lawyers with 5-10 years’ PAE, with experience in construction, projects, infrastructure, energy and renewables and commercial/contracts. Candidates with previous in-house experience or backgrounds at top/mid-tier law firms are encouraged to apply.
