  • Lawyer with 2–5 years’ PAE in environment, planning, Native Title, property, or administrative law

  • Join a high-performing team that values initiative, precision, and commercial insight

  • Gain direct mentorship from senior leaders invested in your development

An incredibly rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join an industry-leading Environment & Planning team working on some of Western Australia’s most interesting and high impact matters.

This is an opportunity to work alongside recognised leaders in the field and contribute to matters that shape the future of land use, infrastructure, and environmental policy in WA.

About the role:

You will play a key role advising clients on major development projects, navigating regulatory frameworks, and managing complex environmental and property-related legal issues.

Your responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising on land use, planning & development approvals, and environmental compliance across mining, agriculture, renewable energy, and conservation projects.

  • Providing legal guidance on Native Title, heritage and land access issues.

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with a focus on environment, planning and property law.

  • Representing clients in disputes and regulatory proceedings related to planning, environment, and property matters, such as land compensation & compulsory acquisition matters.

About you:

We would like to speak with lawyers with at least 2 - 5 years of post-admission experience in environment and planning law from a top-tier, national, or leading boutique law firm, or relevant in-house legal experience within the infrastructure, resources, or government sectors.

Our client is also open to considering applications from candidates who have experience in one or more adjacent practice areas such as native title, property, projects & infrastructure, or administrative law, who have a genuine interest in transitioning into environment and planning.

You will bring strong commercial acumen and well-developed technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. Your drafting will be precise and purposeful, and your written and verbal communication will reflect a high level of logic, clarity, and professionalism in providing advice to clients.

You will have a keen interest in regulatory frameworks, land development & infrastructure projects along with a willingness to build deep expertise in this evolving and impactful area of law.

The benefits:

This firm is consistently recognised as a first-tier, preeminent practice in environment and planning law. You will benefit from:

  • A friendly, collaborative and trusting work environment, with directors who support autonomy and professional development.

  • Direct access to the firm’s directors and senior lawyers - learn from the best as you work on a range of interesting and high-calibre matters.

  • A strong focus on professional development and career progression.

If you are looking to take the next step in your legal career and work on matters that make a real impact, we encourage you to apply.
