In-house Counsel - Financial Services Organisation

We’re looking for a commercially savvy, strategic In-house Counsel with 6–15 years’ PAE to step into a high-visibility role within this values-led financial services organisation.

You’ll bring a mindset geared toward adding value and in-house experience across Commercial/Procurement functions, including managing the full contract lifecycle.

This is a key role within the business, working closely with a highly respected General Counsel known for building collaborative and close-knit teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide commercially focused legal advice across the organisation

• Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders daily, helping to shape key initiatives

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of high-value commercial agreements, including licences, service contracts, leases, and project documents

• Deliver expert legal guidance on banking, finance, privacy, compliance, governance, and financial services regulations

• Play a strategic role in decision-making alongside the executive team

Experience with financial services regulation (ASIC, APRA, ACL, mortgage lending) will be highly regarded.

The ideal candidate:

• 6–15 years’ PAE  

• Sharp commercial acumen combined with a practical and values-driven approach to delivering legal solutions

• Excellent communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business and provide advice at senior levels
